CASE #648 Adji Desir (1.14.2009)(STILL MISSING)

forum link to this case

page 1  page 2

DD's from last night follow.

"* ask about Hait (assuming Haiti), she knows S where to look * family did not see him that day, he was at C.

"not telling the truth - ask them again, he's at C by the watershed -- * was told he was goto (going) Haiti - this was not truth, S"

"man who saw him speaks French, hes at work and did (not) know he was missing, C, CHER YO - red eyes"

"dogs running around free, dogs keep warm, water drain, 29"

"FV 29 Bell Circle around water, pond is here"

I wish I'd translated this earlier, as the dream was easier to this is what I know.

I think Adji may have been playing with a dog and he followed that dog, a man may have saw him leave, but this person did not know he was missing.  I also felt like the child was alone, and was not being supervised by anyone...I also think whoever was in charge of his supervision is not telling the truth to authorities.  The child went missing from Immokalee, Florida...using Google Earth I was able to find a Bell Circle.  A water drain (drawn drain) might be a place where he had spent the night....I realize all drains were more than likely searched, but would suggest to recheck them for signs Adji might have been there...hopefully is the child was not taken by this man that speaks French, and is still out in the environment, the dog is still with him.

Hi Brian,

Read your DD on 6 year old Adji Demir, thank you for putting out quickly.

I felt like he wondered away also and was hiding in something or under something.
I am not psychic. It is just the first thought that came to me when I saw his little face.

Hi Diane, thanks, very possible.

Hi Brian,

This is Nan-C's Angels---Nevaeh,

I just was informed on the Delphi forum that you had a dd posted about Adji. I had an automatic writing on Adji  Sunday evening after

I saw his information on the forum  that he was missing. Seems we have some similar information. I am sending you what I got in the writing.

Young boy wanders near home with blue shutters. Boy wanders away near road with two paths where tires made path.

Rural country road. Walks into area where he sees something that c atches his eye. Something sparkly. Large metal object

tin, or copper cylinder. He is inside this cylinder. got very tired and fell asleep. Find house with blue shutters and dog outside on

a chain and a doghouse. He is not far from this house when you turn right from the side yard. He is ok so frightened of the dark

but is too tired to move .

My writing was posted Monday morning on the Delphi forum. You mentioned 29. That is the county road that runs along side the farming

community. Others on the forum directed me to a Williams Lane directly behind Elm Hammock Circle. When I took the virtual drive down

that road it was a country road. While traveling on that road I came to a fork in the road which led to the left another dirt path made by tires.

I felt very drawn to that road beside Williams Lane. Maybe you can take a look at it and see what you feel. I am sorry I don't know how to send

links so maybe you can find it yourself. It is the white line that curves near the Orange orchard on the right. Hope this helps a little.

Hi, will do and thank you.

Adji's mom speaks for the first time

IMMOKALEE: Searchers have been looking for 6-year-old Adji Desir since Sunday night. Wednesday night, the search focused on the tons of trash deputies prevented sanitation workers from collecting.

For the first time since Adji went missing, we were able to speak to the boy's mother through a translator. She told us how Adji is her only son.

"She hopes God will make her find the kid," the translator explained. "She thinks someone took the kid because of all the effort to find him and not one trace."

Wednesday the number of searchers was reduced to around 100 instead of the 150-200 of the past few days.

A group of former homicide and cold case investigators, called Team Adam, showed up to assist in the search Wednesday. The group regularly works with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children when a child is missing.

Most open areas have been searched, so deputies went door to door in Farm Workers Village getting the names of the residents in each home and interviewing them, according to Lt. Tom Smith of the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

"A very complex neighborhood canvas, the neighborhood has been cleared," said Smith.

Because most open areas have been searched, the dual investigation – covering possibilities Adji either wandered off or was abducted – has shifted a little more towards the possibility he was abducted.

Deputies are still asking residents to check around their property, in trash bins, ditches, etc. to see if the boy, who is developmentally disabled, could be hiding there.

The family has been cleared of any wrongdoing in Adji's disappearance.

Despite the cold temperatures moving into the area, deputies say Adji could still be fending for himself.

The sheriff's office says they will not give up the search for Adji.

"We will keep the search up as long as necessary," said Sheriff Kevin Rambosk.

Lieutenant Smith has appeared on Nancy Grace's show on CNN Monday and Tuesday evenings. He will also appear on her show tonight.

Anyone who has seen Adji is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-780- TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for the increased reward of up to $6,500.

Thank you Susan, will add this to the case file...and I hope he's found soon.

Somebody is got to find this child.

Hi Sue, thanks for this and I agree.

I have additional DD's I'm researching right now...have been for 2 hours now.  I'm posting 2 maps of where I think Adji could be, I'm also trying to find someone in the local area that's willing to help me get a search team together.  If anyone's willing to help, please send me an email here, want to make this happen today.

— Volunteers are urged to help find 6-year-old Adji Desir, the Immokalee boy who went missing nearly one week ago.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office will hand out fliers to volunteers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Immokalee Community Park, 321 N. 1st St. They'll be asked to distribute the fliers in their communities to help find Adji.

Thursday, the soft and sometimes unsteady voice of the child's mother spoke of an unimaginable despair.

“I feel like my life is almost over,” said Marie Neida, 36, in Creole during a press conference Thursday.

Six-year-old Adji went missing Saturday from his grandmother’s home at Farm Worker Village in Immokalee.

And on Thursday, there was still no sign of the developmentally disabled boy, who police say has the mental capacity of a 2-year-old.

With help from Collier County Sheriff’s Office translator Nymphgamey Oboute, Adji’s mother and stepfather gave an update on their family’s status and how they’re all holding up.

“I see that the community is doing a good job because they are helping us find Adji,” said the boy’s stepfather, Antal Elant, 41, in Creole. “The police officers are not sleeping, they’re doing a good service. That’s why I have hope that they will find Adji.”

Elant said faith continues to give the family strength.

“We have a God in heaven who is helping us search for him too,” said Elant. “We are not going to lose faith, because we know we are going to find him.”

Neida agreed.

“God will give him back to me,” Neida said. “I think he will come home.”

Adji’s disappearance has taken a toll on the family, Elant said.

Especially on Neida — this is the longest she’s ever been apart from her only child.

“She can’t even sleep. Every time she tries to lie down she remembers Adji and she gets up,” said Elant.

The family is also dealing with the stream of calls from extended family and friends asking for updates.

Both Elant and Neida said they were grateful for the outpouring of support.

“I want to tell everyone thank you,” said Neida. “Because I see that everyone is my family in this country.”

Law enforcement officials will continue to look for Adji today.

“As of yesterday, we had gone 12 square miles and we’re expanding another 4 square miles in all directions today,” said Collier County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Karie Partington during a press conference.

Adji’s story will air on America’s Most Wanted on Saturday, Partington said.

Though Sheriff’s Office officials believe the number of agents would be slightly scaled back, roughly 300 law enforcement officials — 100 of which are Collier County deputies — are expected to continue the search Friday, with boats and airboats joining the effort, Partington said.

“The search for Adji has been just phenomenal,” said incident commander Lt. Tom Smith, in an interview Thursday. “We started off with 80 officers or so the first night. It jumped to 150 the next of couple of nights and yesterday we had over 300 officers here searching. And today it was nearly the same.”

Sheriff’s officials said more than 40 law enforcement and emergency response agencies have given their time and manpower.

“We’ve been tremendously lucky,” said Smith.

Concerning the expanded search, which included Immokalee’s Lake Trafford, Smith said the lake’s shoreline had been on the investigators’ radar.

“It is a location that if you are going to search this community for a missing person or a missing child, that would be someplace that you would have to cover as a natural progression of the investigation,” said Smith.

In addition to law enforcement from Collier County, Lee County, Orange County and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission using boats and airboats, the Tampa Search and Rescue Team brought down an amphibious vehicle with underwater sonar and cameras to help scan the lake.

Smith also confirmed that investigators had cleared through the 15 to 20 truckloads of trash that had been set aside to search for any clues that might lead to Adji.

“They went through probably 60 tons of trash at the transfer station,” said Smith. “That refuse has been cleared and it has been disposed of.”

Meanwhile, the state Department of Children and Families has become involved in the case.

“We’ve been working with the Sheriff’s Office since the beginning,” said DCF spokeswoman Erin Gillespie, adding that the agency has had no prior involvement with any of Adji’s family members.

“Right now, law enforcement has the lead on the whole case,” she said. “Depending on the outcome, we could be more involved. We’re just waiting and hoping for the best. It’s a sad case.”

Partington said the cost of the search is impossible to calculate at this point.

By law, all the law enforcement officers who participated in the search had to be on the clock, she said.

The FBI has been assisting with the search since it started but the Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency on the case, Partington said.

The Sheriff’s Office does plan for emergencies, but searches of this magnitude are difficult to plan for.

“It’s like a 100-year storm,” Partington said. “It’s just something you have to cope with. We do have money, but this is an extraordinary event.”

Asked how the agents keep the morale up, when so many people question if Adji is still alive, Smith said that it comes with the job.

“You always train for the things that you don’t want to happen. We didn’t want this to happen, but we’re trained for it, we’re prepared for it ... we know what our mission is — our mission is to bring Adji home and we intend to do so,” Smith said. “Whether or not we bring him home immediately, a few days later, a month later or a year later, we are going to finish this case.”

Smith said people have asked how long it would take for the Sheriff’s Office to make Adji’s case a “cold case.”

He said that wouldn’t happen.

“Cold case is a TV term, this case will always be an open case,” said Smith. “We will always search for Adji.”

Staff writers Ryan Mills and Aisling Swift contributed to this report.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is asking for volunteers to help in the search for 6-year-old Adji Desir. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, citizen volunteers are asked to go to Immokalee Community Park, 321 N. 1st St.

Volunteers will be asked to distribute the fliers with Adji’s information in their own communities or locations of their choice.

Below is a map to the location.

Below is a link to an interactive map that I'm using right now, I'm looking for waterways, drains and drain covering similar to my dds.  If you find something, please let me know, I'll post it asap.

DD's form last night, and so far not much of any help.  If there is a missing dog in the area, would try and find out where this dog might have gone.

"water way, c, drain dog"

"he has been found --- 1637112431, 29, dig"

I was wondering if in the RV, where it was mentioned that the man spoke French, could it be Creole that he speaks? Creole is a French based dialect often spoken in the Southern parts of the Bayou but also in this small community in Florida. Could it be possible that one of the ir own village people took this child?

Hi, yes it could be.

9:44 PM, going over some maps with Debra, if I'm able to come up with an exact location, I will post it asap.

Also planning on doing a radio show about this case is necessary.

I dont know if you got my last e-mail. I told you I also saw a water drainage also. Last night while meditating on him, I saw the drain again. But this time I could see straight ahead of the drain, in the distance I could see houses. It was behind the houses. The house I mainly saw was a peach colored house. The drain is located behind a peach colored house.

Hi Michelle, were you about to find this location on a map?

Hi Brian,

Below is a link that has an interactive map that you can pin point where you think Adji might be. I thought maybe you could look and see if you can tell where you think he may be located.

I looked at the map and I saw a mound with a drain pipe running into it. It is on Alexandra and Dingo right behind a chain link fence looking thing shaped like a bus stop cover. I know you dreamed Bell Cir., there is probably the same kind of mounds with drains in that area too.

Thank you for all your help and effort in finding the Missing.

Hi Diane, looking now.

you might want to post something on Adji's case....when you refer to 'drains', that is actually what some people call a 'culvert'. i was actually confused to begin with, and figured it out by looking at your DD and realizing that it was the 'tunnel' underneath a road, or under a driveway.

Thanks, just did :)

Thanks for the update, lets hope hes found today.

Massive push to find Adji
Originally posted on: Saturday, January 17, 2009 by NBC2 News

IMMOKALEE: Saturday could bring the largest number of officers the ground search for missing 6 year-old Adji Desir.

Exactly one week since the boy was last seen playing in Immokalee's Farm Worker Village, the Collier County Sheriff's Office has called in officers from throughout the state for another day of searching.

"Today is an exceptional sweep. We've brought in probably 250 or so law enforcement officers, ATVs, swamp buggies, horses and a myraid of other technical equipment to search again a three mile radius," said Collier County Lt. Tom Smith.

Many of the officers are new to the search. Smith said he hopes they will help ensure "no stone is left unturned."

This expanded effort comes as deputies prepare to end their ground search for Adji, and move their command post from Farm Worker Village to the sheriff's office's Immokalee sub station.

There deputies will rely more heavily on databases like sex offender registries and past case records to continue their investigation.

Also on Saturday deputies asked volunteers to visit Immokalee Community Park to pick up missing child fliers, in hopes they will be distributed throughout the state.

Southwest Floridians will also receive information about Adji's disappearance in their mailboxes.

The US Postal service is mailing 50,000 fliers to households in the region as part of the national "Deliver Me Home" program for missing children.

The reward for information is growing. The FBI announced Friday a $10,000 reward in addition to the $23,000 reward being offered locally.

If you'd like to help get the word out about Adji you can stop by Immokalee Community Park before 2pm Saturday to pick up fliers, or print them out on your own computer by visiting the Collier County website

4:33 PM

I found an area that needs to be searched, its in blue and is about 20 feet across.  GPS Cords. are at the bottom.

I think local police are doing a great job, I hate to say it, but at this point it might be better if Adji was abducted.

Hi Brian,

I wrote you yesterday about the drain being behind a peach house. Well from my map, I cant see the colors of the houses. But I did look all over the area and found this location. This would have to be the place I saw judging by the way the houses sit. And the distance of the tree line behind the houses. Have they searched this area? Im sure they have. But they need to check again.

Hi, calling you up Google earth again :)

Thanks Again Sue.

chat room for this case is located here, if you wish to help, I'm listening :)

Notes from Gale and Reggie & Travis, I would suggest a though search of all homes in the area, pay attention to closets.

Adji maybe with someone the family knows.

live map link

Search every abandoned car, bus, shed, storage container in this area....also be on the look out for a child's toy that may have drooped (rubbery)

3:49 PM

We have someone going out to checkout these areas today, if anyone else want to help, please let me know.

We also discussed that this man in my dd's could not be talking because of fear of deportation, even though he might have nothing to do with Adji disappearance.

This is not good

IMMOKALEE: America’s Most Wanted profiled Adji Desir story Saturday night hoping to spread the word and the need for more volunteers.

Over 50,000 flyers are now on the streets of Southwest Florida to help bring the six-year-old home.

On Saturday 250 law enforcement officers, ATVs, swamp buggies searched for Adji.

Sgt. R.C. Brown with CCSO.said he received several leads and also found some items in the woods of interest to his team.

Search teams assure us they leave no question unasked and no attic unchecked.

"We're basically going back to every location we've been to with fresh personnel and renewed interest," said  Sgt Brown

Hi Brian,

MyMysty gave me a link to an interactive map for the Adji Desir case, while in the chat room.  She has placed a blue square line around an unknown structure in the field NNE of Adji's grandmother's.  She also placed a pin near the pond NW of the village.

Thanks !

Hi Brian,

Grix from chat, who went to Immokalee yesterday, provided me with the address for Adji's grandmother.  Adji went missing while being supervised by his grandmother.  I have attached an image of the home, and a map of the location.

Thank you Gale and Debra, first news report for Adji in a long time.

Nationally-known psychic to search for missing 6-year-old Adji

Gale St. John

Adji Desir has been missing from Immokalee since Saturday evening, Jan. 10, 2009.

A nationally-known psychic is heading to Southwest Florida to do her part in the search for Adji Desir.

Psychic Gale St. John was slated to arrive in Immokalee Wednesday night and will start searching today for 6-year-old Adji, who has been missing from Farm Workers Village since Jan. 10.   In an interview, St. John said she would be arriving at Orlando International Airport Wednesday afternoon and then she’d drive to Immokalee.

“Everything is taken care of,” said St. John before catching her flight to Florida. “We got a place to stay.”

However St. John, who is traveling with her daughter Tamara, said she has not reached out to Adji’s family.

“We don’t seek out the family to bother them,” she said, adding that she respects the family’s privacy, but that they should feel free to contact her.

Also unaware of St. John’s pending visit — the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

“We were unaware of her visit,” said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Karie Partington, adding the department has had no contact with St. John. “But we will be trying to contact her.”

In an interview Wednesday, Partington said the agency is still actively looking for Adji.

“We’re open to any ideas that may assist us in locating him,” said Partington.

In spite of some discounting her abilities, St. John has appeared on Geraldo Rivera’s “At Large,” “Larry King Live,” HLN’s “Nancy Grace” and “Psychic Detectives” on Court TV. St. John claimed to have located Caylee Anthony’s body months before authorities did.

St. John will remain in Immokalee through Sunday, when she is scheduled to travel to the Satsuma area to search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, who has been missing since Feb. 10.

She will also be posting updates to her site — called twittering — throughout the whole experience.

St. John will remain in Satsuma through April 23, before heading back to her home in Ohio.

In a written statement, Debra Brink said St. John would conduct a “blind-drive” for each case. In essence, a blind drive is when St. John starts driving from the last point where a person was seen and uses her gift to lead her in the right direction. Once the drive is done, she will do a thorough physical search of each area.

Psychic Gale St. John, left, talks with daughter Tamra, right, about their plans during a blind drive through Farm Workers Village in Immokalee on April 16, 2009. St. John is responding to emails she received asking her help to find Adji Desir, a six-year-old that went missing from his home in Farm Workers Village more than three months ago.

Psychic searching for missing boy

Thank You Sue,

COLLIER COUNTY: The search for a missing Immokalee boy gets help from an unlikely source - a person who claims to use psychic powers to find missing people.

Gale St. John says she’s helped track down dozens of people over her 30 year career. Now, she will use her mind to try solving this mystery.

"I’m not here for the media. I’m not here to create a circus. I’m here to find Adji," she said

The nationally-known psychic will spend four days in Immokalee, looking for Adji Desir - the 6-year-old boy who hasn’t been seen since January.

"The only thing I’ll ever guarantee to anyone is that I will come out here, I will do my best," St. John said.

Armed with only her daughter and a rental car, St. John says she follows people’s vibrations to locate where they last were.

"Like a tracking dog. Does it stop right here? Do I lose him? Is that because a car picked him up?" she explained.

St. John’s approach includes two things.

First, she goes on a "blind drive." She says that is where she starts where Adji was last seen, gets in the car, and then uses her abilities to lead her in the right direction.

The second part will be a ground search in Farmworker Village.

"I will follow whatever feelings I get. If I’m willing to say it might be there, or something is there, I’m willing to go in and look," St. John said.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is in contact with St. John about her visit.

"At this point, we absolutely will listen to everyone and we’ll sort out the information we get. There’s nothing we won’t do to further this case," said Sheriff Kevin Rambosk.

By Sunday, St. John hopes to give investigators an area to focus on.

"I’m not asking them to believe anything we say. I’m just asking them to check," she said.

She says she's just hoping her psychic skills will help end the search.

mp3 of show, much better audio here.

Here are pictures from the exact coordinates entered into the gps system. barb wire fencing around the entire area. and the driveway you'd seen on google earth is about 100 yards west of this location; however that has a gate with a chain lock on it. this entire area is inaccessible, but I am sure you can get to it from the back side which would be right behind the house in which Gail drove to in the blind drive.

From Galena:

downed fencing pictures and then on to the orange groves to the banana trees that Gail's guides directed us to where we would find Adji.

we did have to go around the fencing because it is Sunday the gates were closed, but because it was are last day to search we couldn't leave without looking there.

all from gail's semi-trance...

wooden post, white water tank, banana trees

#33 leaving the orange groves

34 entrance to farm workers village

Thank you again Galena for all your help.

you all are very welcome, I am just glad that I could help in someway, The best news of all of this is that I have heard from various people since Gail came down here that they are seeing new posters through out Naples on Adji. and that she has a search and rescue team from up north with dogs coming down here with their dogs to go over the areas that just simply we couldn't get into because of the dangerous elements water (alligators) and high dense ground (snakes). I understand the dogs will be doing that for us. My understanding is that Gail will be giving them my contact information so that I can take them to the area and go over with them what we have gone through in the past 4 days.

Gail and myself had a VERY intense and lenghty talk with two little boys today about Adji and found out through them that there was a lady that collects or distributes alumium canned goods to the area that was with Adji when the last child went in to eat. the small kids use to walk Adji home at night. but that night they were called in to eat and he was left by himself. they say that he couldn't find his way home without them. if you asked him were he lived he would just point to any house. so it is NO wonder he got lost. when the last boy went in the house it was already getting dark out. We also learned that many; almost everyone was mean to the child. even the 4 yr old ( I am guessing ) we were talking to. use to hit Adji and the 12-14 yr olds tormented him. and that Adji when he got mad at you would pull down his pants and try to urinate (my words) on you. my question to that; is where would you learn to do that from? This case keeps getting more and more difficult. the more you learn about Adji and his situation the more your mind goes into a different direction. The boys told us that the stepfather in their words has never cried about Adji but that the mom and grandma cries all the time. it must be the talk of the town if these two little ones told us about it, because how would they know? the boys I am guessing are 4 & 7/8. this talk today just made this all that much worse for me. what a horrible life this child must have been living. With Gail's help and with the help that has promised to come in and take over were she left off. may God bless this poor lost child with final peace.

Why are all my missing person cases public?

The reason for making all my missing person cases public is simple...there is no possible way I can investigate these myself.  I add at least one new case a day, 7 days a week with no vacations...this leaves little free time to do individual case work.  Making everything public far outweighs working in secrecy...what you get is what I dreamt, nothing more or nothing less.  When I post my dream drawing on a case, I usually post a translation too...this translation includes everything I know about the case, nothing is kept from you the reader.  As with most people, I do not remember a majority of my dreams, and going back to specific dd's (dream drawings) does not usually bring back anything additional I have not already posted.  I am not a psychic and can only work via dreaming or lucid dreaming, so with each request, I literally have to 'sleep on it'.  I am not concerned about my dreams not being right, however I am concerned about letting those who can make a difference in solving a case, do so.  I have been doing this for several years now, and will continue to do it in a way I know works.  I have never charged to open a case, and have no plans on doing so in the future...all work, including work from those helping me is done 100% pro bono.  When corresponding about a specific case via email, please assume it will be made always I will try my best to remove personal information of the sender...but mistakes do happen. To open a new case, check the status of a pending case or to send information on a current case, please email my case admin Debra at this link.  For more information as to how I do what I do and how we handle cases, please listen to this radio broadcast in its entirety.
