May 6th, 2008: I'm deeply sadden by the recent events in Burma...to me it's the worst tragedy I have seen since the 2004 Tsunami, and my heart goes out to all the people affected.  Was trying to get further updates on the news channels, but most of the coverage was about the primaries and gas prices...which are important...but this should have been the top story.

Nothing is more important that helping people in need...and from what I know of the politics and the living conditions before the storm hit...more than a million people could die before this is all over.

The UN needs to get into gear and make the government accept the aid it's been offered so far, and more aid is still needed.

If anyone wishes to contribute to the charities that are actively trying help the people in the affected area, please visit www.CNN.com/Impact.

As always, I offer free site membership to anyone that donates to any charity of their choice...details are located at http://www.briansprediction.com/charity.

This section of this site will contain comments from readers that have additional ideas on other ways we might be able to help these people now.

Have you seen the news that the military government in Myanmar is not allowing planeloads of aid through? very little anyway, and even then, their military is seizing a lot of it. Maybe the best way to donate is through international organizations- not through U.S. organizations. I would feed each and every one of those people if I could.

You make a good point and will post that for others to read.

Brian this is a charity that we (our family - in lieu of christmas presents)support. I sent you their request at the time of the Burma cyclone - here\'s their update on Burma. They do good work, especially here on the great African continent, please consider linking them to your Burma page. Kind regards, Caron

Dear Brian - I've been thinking since you put your Burma page up.....a wide variety of so many people worldwide connect to your site and do research into all sorts of things and see all sorts of things on the net....you could have a page of charities that are connected to your various cases/categories of cases. It would make more people conscious - our family donates 7% of our yearly income to charity and instead of doing the christmas gift thing, we donate in lieu of gifts, but on behalf of those we would have given a gift to, to a selection of charities. I don't know where you'd find the time to put up such a page, ....just an idea....any how, this one is for girl child abuse, perhaps it could be connected to some of the paedofile/murder cases?? Or one connected to your pay /membership page  (instead of services), certainly the skeptics who would want to gain access to private spaces would be happy to donate to some of these? I am sorry if I'm expecting a bit much, but your site provides a wonderful podium for reaching out and I think many people of conscience read your pages.

kind regards, caron
