Very good news for blood banks...giving 1 quart of blood every 3 months lowers the risk of heart attacks by 57%, strokes by 92% and cancer by 42%, (do not know what kind of cancer). The reason for this is simple...humans were suppose to lose blood all the time, but in today's modern world, this dose not happen as other as it should. Donating blood is like changing the oil in a car. (for the record, I gave blood twice a year for the entire 12 years I was in the Army, when I got out I tried to give blood at a local Red Cross blood drive, and they told me I was unable to due to the fact I was stationed in Korea. Very ironic, as I gave blood to the Red Cross in Korea)

Hey brian,
I write this for two reasons.
First reason is that just a day before i read about your dream (DD4535),
i saw on news/read on newspapers that our national red cross is in huge
need of blood doners, because of the big flu season we now have here in
Finland where i live.
I have never been a blood donor before, but what i saw on the news that
day touched me.
I have the O type of blood what they need the most and i am ready to win
my very very big needlefear and go give some blood :).
After all - it might save someone's life.. and after reading your dream
there is no a doubt in my mind that it would not
be a good decision.
Second reason is that i want to ask you about your dream.

You think the cancer you mention might mean blood cancers?
Maybe leukemia or Lymphoma type of cancers?

In lymphoma some of the
cells in the lymph system multiply uncontrollably - if all the cells are
the same they are called malignant or cancerous.

Hi Noora,
I would imagine that it could help prevent all forms of cancer, especially Leukemia and Lymphoma. I wonder if any long term studies have been done on this.
