Concourse reopened at Miami Int. Airport, no explosive device found
MIAMI (AP) -- Activity the Miami International Airport was briefly interrupted Tuesday after a suspicious package was found on a concourse, but the bomb squad said it was not an explosive device.
"It has been cleared at the airport as far as the evacuation," said Lt. Veronica Ferguson, a Miami-Dade police spokeswoman.
The package was spotted at 4:40 p.m. in the gate area of Concourse D.
The area between concourses C and D were evacuated on all three floors for about 30 minutes, but flights were not suspended.
International and domestic flights use those concourses, said Greg Chin, an airport spokesman.
Concourse D handles mainly American Airlines domestic, Caribbean and Latin American flights.

MIAMI (AP) -- Police evacuated a concourse and dispatched the bomb squad to the Miami International Airport Tuesday after a suspicious package was found.
The package was spotted at 4:40 p.m. in the concourse's gate area. No further details were immediately available.

"Miami-Dade police are on site and the Miami-Dade bomb squad is en route," said Christopher White, a Transportation Security Administration spokesman.
