Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks and her fiance have split up.

People magazine reports than John Mason and Wilbanks have decided to end their relationship.

"I'm not confirming or denying the breakup," Wilbanks, 33, told People May 14. "John and I have some things to work out."

Wilbanks is the woman who faked her own kidnapping just days before their scheduled wedding last year.

Her disappearance sparked a nationwide search.

After she returned Mason said he still planned to marry Wilbanks, but those plans have changed.

"I think John realized there were some fundamental differences in their personalities that he wasn't going to be able to deal with," a friend says of Mason told the magazine.

Wilbanks completed 120 hours of community service and is still repaying $15,000 to cover the costs of searching for her.
