Tip line set up for missing boy

IRVING — Police established a recorded tip line Friday for any information in the disappearance of a 2-year-old Irving boy who has been missing since Wednesday evening.

Investigators appealed for any information about Elian Majano, who had been at Lively Park with his 4-year-old brother, his mother and her friend.

And the FBI on Friday also joined the investigation for the boy who police believe was abducted at the park.

“We want people in the area who not only saw something suspicious on Wednesday but days before he disappeared,” said David Tull, an Irving police spokesman. “We have very few clues right now.”

Police said the tip line is bilingual and that callers do not have to leave their names.

“We have three investigators on the case who will gather that information,” Tull said.

Searchers on horseback and others using dogs combed the park and surrounding neighborhoods for almost 24 hours before officials called off the search Thursday evening.

Police said they did not issue an Amber Alert sooner because they had no evidence of foul play. But the alert was issued Thursday evening after authorities ruled out every explanation other than he had been abducted, police said.

“We had plenty of coverage on Wednesday evening,” Tull said Friday. “We just didn’t have any witnesses to say they saw an abduction or they heard a vehicle leaving quickly.”

Elian arrived at the park about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He was accompanied by his brother, his mother Yancy Majano and a friend of hers.

Within minutes of arriving at the park, Elian vanished after walking down a trail, police said.

Police had not determined how long Elian was left alone before he disappeared.

Because of the unsupervised time, Child Protective Services removed Elian’s 4-year-old brother, Alexis, from the family’s home Thursday afternoon and placed the boy in foster care.

Yancy Majano could not be reached Friday morning for comment.

“We were concerned that he did not have adequate supervision at the park,” CPS spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales said Friday.

A hearing will be held within the next 14 days to review where Alexis was placed, Gonzales said.

“He could be placed back with his family,” Gonzales said. “We just don’t know what will happen at this time.”

Gonzales said CPS had received no other reports about the family before Elian was reported missing.

Tull said that investigators do not believe any of Elian’s relatives are involved in his disappearance.

An FBI agent arrived at the Irving police station on Friday to assist authorities with the investigation.

I have tried twice to contact the police in Texas to present your DD about the missing boy Elias.  They have three detectives working the Tipline and also the FBI.  Still no return call.

Also sent the DD for the Dubai earthquake and the DD for the possible terror attacks on their country.  Sent info to the security department that oversees Dubai's safety as opposed to the Prince himself since we don't know who his "close friend" is.

I am sooo clear how frustrated you probably get when you get no response when you try to alert someone about your dreams.  Regarding Elian, I am deciding whether to go to the Chief of Police in Texas or route it through the FBI in Maui.  I frankly don't care I they don't believe in what you do or not.  They are the ones who have disappeared.

I must have been a pit bull in another life.  On Sunday, I finally got your DD about what I think is the missing little boy, Elian, through to a gal at the Irving, Texas police station switchboard.  Today is Tuesday, and a policeman from their police station called me in response to my previous two phone messages.  Having not seen the dream drawing I sent through the switchboard, I sent him one directly.  They are just coming up with air as far as clues.  I stated that I would E-mail you and ask if you would do a remote viewing on the where abouts of this little boy.  There was a lot of coverage on this case on the Nancy Grace show last night on Prime Time Live.  If you decide to do the remote viewing, you can immediately send the results to Rodney Bergeron at the Irving Texas Police station at:  rbergeron@ci.irving.tx.us
