Hi, it could be, I will look into this.

Brian, thought I'd send you the part of the email I'd be ok with you posting. Thanks again!
Dear Brian,
I've a licensed Minister and have been a practicing (and devout) Wiccan for 25+ years. I teach it around the USA. When your reader discovered the phone number was for the Canadian Wiccan church, I took a few more looks at the dream. I have some facts to add.
I hope your readers understand that Wicca is not something to be feared or ridiculed. We believe firmly in doing as little harm to others as possible. We do not proselytize. That is, we don't try to convert anyone. Ever. If people come to us of their own accord, that's one thing - but an ethical Wiccan does not coerce others to our way of life. Wiccans respect all connections with Deity in whatever form. We believe we're just one way among many. And each belief system - whether it's codified or not - has its beauty. You can find more about Wicca and Paganism at wikipedia.org, or many other legitimate websites.
In truth, many Wiccans wonder if our mainstream society is ready to live side by side with those who have a polytheistic way of thinking - even if we don't push it on anyone. This is why many of us hide our beliefs away. Wicca is one of the fastest growing religions in the world right now and has been for over 2 decades. We are also one of the most secretive belief groups on the planet due to harrassment, ridicule and misunderstanding. People might be surprised to know how many witches they interact with on a daily basis and don't even realize it.
Onto your dream:
When I saw this DD in my mailbox, I immediately recognized the symbols. The symbol on the lower right looks remarkably like the symbol for the female. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female  From that article:
Symbols
"A common symbol used to represent the female gender is ♀ (Unicode: U+2640), a circle with a small cross underneath. This symbol also represents the planet Venus and is a stylized representation of the goddess Venus' hand mirror."
Wicca is a rather matrifocal religion, though the God is also very important. In some ways its a reaction to patriarchal religions who choose to not view divinity as female. Some pagan traditions (such as Dianics), choose to honor the Goddess over the God. (query Dianics at Wikipedia.org for more information)
The drawing on your DD at first reminded me of the union jack. Then I thought about the number of spokes. And I thought, "If he put a Circle where the square was...we'd have this"   http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/symbols/bldefswiccasymbols.htm which is "The eight-pointed Wheel of the Year symbol marks the important holy days, or Sabbats, in the Wiccan Ritual calendar. It is derived from the sun wheel, or solar cross, a pre-Christian European calendar marking the Solstices and Equinoxes."
And then I saw this on the same page:
"The so-called Witch's Sign is used in some traditions to mark ritual tools. It is similar to the solar cross, but its exact origin is unknown (It is similar to the Roman numeral thirteen, and reader suggests this may represent the coven of thirteen members) (Similar devices were used in the medieval period to mark time)":
Look familiar? Pretty amazing, if you ask me. As your reader above suggested, the 8 Sabbats are sacred to pagans, commemorating the cycle of life and our own journey through life. While there is no one "way" of being pagan/Wiccan, most every pagan I know works the "8 Spokes". Also, the Witch's Sign/Wheel of the year was intrinsic in developing the Cross symbology when Christianity supplanted paganism as the primary religion of Europe. We are all much more interconnected than we've been led to believe.
Recently Wiccans have made headway with the US military. For years, Wicca has been a recognized (though not necessarily overtly supported) religion in the military. There are stories of Circles being drawn under the full moon of the Iraqi desert (for both the first Iraq war and this one). There are Wiccan services happening - under full protection of the Constitution and with the blessing of the Armed Services - on many military bases in the United States and abroad. We have many, many Pagan Patriots who are serving their country with bravery and courage alongside their bretheren during combat. There were even Wiccan chaplains during the Vietnam War! However, though many of our brave soldiers have been Wiccan, they never fully received the same honor as their Christian, Jewish, etc., brothers and sisters, especially after giving their lives in battle.
There's been a legal struggle to include the Wiccan symbol to Wiccan Soldiers' gravestones. In the past few weeks, this has happened. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,20522375-1702,00.html Essentially, this has now gone to court and could possibly going to change the way the mainstream views Wiccans. I daresay my hope mirrors the hopes of my Wiccan family - that we can all live peacefully, with respect and consideration regardless of what theology we follow. Brian, if this prediction is true, I will know that our struggles will have counted for something.
I look forward to seeing where this goes, Brian. Thank you for your bravery, courage and gifts.
Sincerely,
Some Wiccan on the Eastern Seaboard

Hi, thanks for this information, and I respect all religions. I know very little about Wicca and appreciate your help...if these dreams are related to Wicca, and ideas why I'm having them? Brian

reply

Blessed Samhain, Brian!
Brian, I have no doubt that you're respectful of all religions and that is why, I think, you have so many people who respect you in turn. And for that, I thank you - I wish more people were as respectful of others' beliefs. One of the reasons why many of us pagans stay "in the broom closet" so to speak, is because we are tired of opening ourselves up to ridicule and harm. I am very careful about who I tell about this stuff.
If this is in fact related to Wicca - and it could be, as there are several indications in your dream - I think it might have more to do with mainstream society having greater tolerance for others' beliefs. President Bush has said (in 2002, I believe...) that he doesn't consider Wicca a "real" religion, years after it was ratified by the government. Many people share his point of view.
There is a stream of thought in the past decade or so that concentrates on the changes in 2012 (the year the Mayan calendar ends and to some in the New Age community, the end of the world as we perceive it today) - and part of the changes that are to come is the acceptance of those beliefs we've ridiculed in the past. Now, many Christians who oppose this idea say that the acceptance and tolerance of paganism is proof positive that we're entering the End Times as indicated in the Bible / Revelations.
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with any of this, but it's just something to think about. I'd love to learn more about this dream, but I also know you have many demands on your time and I'd hate to be one more person asking for your time. You have a family, a life, and your own things to concentrate on.
I've been a tarot reader for many years, and I do it professionally as well. My fiancee does it too. I tell him it's one of the few things I can do well <laugh>. I know what it's like to be accurate and then have a throng of people think you're their personal font of knowledge!
Listen, I do pretty good readings...you just let me know if you ever want one done, and consider it done. And I'm like you in this, I don't charge unless it's for "entertainment". My oaths to my Deities forbid me to take money for spiritual work. But if you're needing an outside point of view or objective reading, all you have to do is ask. Remember, brother, even the doctor must take time off to heal himself.
Why do I have the feeling that you're not the only psychic around? Is your wife or other female friend/sister/family member also gifted? Well, whoever around you who is doing readings / psychic work - there's a message. Spirit says she (uh...your reader nearby is a female) needs to stop reading the damned book and trust her instincts - her instincts are way more accurate than the book is. I get a picture of a woman looking at a book and getting a strange feeling in her belly because the words don't jive with her gut feelings. Oh, and tell her to stop feeling guilty about knowing what she knows. There's nothing wrong with wanting to know the future and wanting to help others. So there!
I think someone around you is a divination hound too!
Meh...I have a lot of "thoughts" right now, all positive, as if I'm picking up stuff...but I won't trouble you with them. Blessings upon your household!

Hi, and thanks...I have had others dreams that may also be related to Wicca, if I can find them, I will send them to you.  I think everyone can do this, just that most people do not believe they can, my son Samuel is much better at this stuff than I am, and he's just 4.  However my wife does not what him to go public until he's older.

Take Care,

Brian

I don't blame you guys for wanting to keep your son under wraps. Kids have amazing skills, and it's only us stupid adults who discourage them - it's awesome that you encourage him. But I agree, it's best to let him develop his talent at his own pace and if he chooses to be public about his gifts, that is his decision.
I started reading cards when I was 8. Being in a Catholic family...er...that went over like a wet rock!
As for your other dreams about Wicca, I'd love to hear them if you have the time to share them. I'll be happy to lend whatever I can to help, whether that's academic or psychic. And I won't bs you either. I'm pretty much going to be one of the most conservative pagans you'll meet, I don't go for all that Charmed/Buffy crap or spouting some platitudes. Witchcraft at its core is simple. You do the best you can with what you have and you try to affect positive change when you can. You do what you can to hurt as few people along the way. You treat people kindly and with respect, even when they don't agree with you. I think most religions share that. Paganism simply is a bit more populated, deity wise.
I agree that anyone can "tap into" that which is beyond themselves. I teach tarot in that very way. Some might take to it more easily than others, but they can still do it. Problem is, we're taught from a very early age that these things "don't exist" and it's in our minds and fantasy. Then we freak out when that fantasy manifests here. There's a saying in Wicca that goes "as above, so below", that is, as it is in our spiritual world, then it will manifest here in the physical world. Heck, that's the basis of spellwork - is the visualization of something to make it real here.
Again, whatever I can do to help I gladly offer to you!
Flags, Flax & Fodder,

Kaerwyn

I actually do not have a problem with my son helping me, my wife does.  He did a drawing about a year ago, and people loved it...and it did come true.  I know very little about Wicca, but I'm interested learning about all religions.  And I will send you a few dream drawings that I think might be related to Wicca...still not sure why I even dreamed them, but there must be a reason.

Take Care,

Brian
