I read that and I thought let me look up 417...417 is the area code for springfield missouri
then I went to the starbucks website and looked up stores in springfield missouri....
and then I was totally freaked out cause this is what I found...

I looked up starbucks cause a friend of mine said they had read an article which said that people were upset because there is a starbucks across the street from mecca and this is a big shrine and very important.

HI Brian this caught my eye because I grew up and lived in Springfield, MO for 25 years - now I live in NYC. My entire family still lives there and I visit often.
The area code for Springfield, MO is 417. However I do not understand how the Battlefield Mall came into the equation? I was just in Springfield two months ago - there is NO Starbucks across the street from the mall. There is more than one coffee establishment in the mall and there are Starbucks in Springfield. The other person who sent you an email regarding this seems to be a little mis-informed - what mecca are they referring to? I wouldn't go so far as to say the mall is a mecca.....
Springfield is a college town and there are a lot of coffee shops in the downtown area and around campus. There are also several wholesale grocer warehouses around the city where I'm sure tons of coffee is stored. I hope I do not come off as rude I just wanted to point out the fact I don't think it is entirely fair to pinpoint it down to the Battlefield Mall because, as I said, there are lots of coffee places in the city, NO Starbucks across from the mall - one in the mall, along with a Java Planet and another coffee place. I just think it is jumping to conclusions a bit. I think it is very interesting to see Springfield come up and I will follow this. BTW - there is also a local publication called 417 Magazine.
