There's another angle to this that is not apparent.  There was a French diplomats wife on board the plane.  4 days before the incident, the French sold Lebanon military weapons.  I cannot find the link in my bookmarks but it was a large one.  The CIA was not happy and took out some French Intelligence agents that were also on board.  Now France is really peeved.

I'll add something here though.  I was in a discussion with Stratfor Intelligence once.  I pointed out that almost everytime there was a cease fire betweeen Israel and Palastine some quorram (sp?) rockets would be lobbed into Israeli territory.  These rockets are closer to fireworks than weapons, and have no accuracy whatsoever. It was further pointed out to them that it would make more sense for the Israelis to do these little 'false flag' operations enabling further agression than for the poor Palestinians to agravate their enemies.  And, I just happened to have a picture of a disguised Hamas fighter, that clearly showed a star of david pendant around his neck.  It has almost never been Palestinians causing the problems.  Remember the motto of the MORESAD, `By way of deception`.
