1)Yak 52 = a Soviet primary trainer aircraft which first flew in 1976.

Well that didn't take long...just did a quick search for news...and i guess it happened earlier today.

2 Air National Guard members killed in San Bernardino County plane crash

Investigations were under way today in the deaths of two Riverside County-based California Air National Guard members killed when a Soviet-era trainer plane crashed in San Bernardino County.

UPDATE=Plane crash victims identified

The pilot and passenger killed in a plane crash near Mentone on Monday have been identified as captains with the 163rd Reconnaissance Wing at March Air Reserve Base.
San Bernardino County sheriff's officials received information from the U.S. Air Force that the pilot was Joseph M. Gauthier and the passenger was Amanda K. Herrington, said sheriff's spokeswoman Jodi Miller.
