Yesterday (02/15/2010) we had a major traincrash in Belgium, there are already 18 deaths.
They said on the news that the two trains were riding the same track in opposite directions,
but today they said that they were on separate tracks.

A fire aboard a New Jersey Transit train today sent three passengers to the hospital and halted train service in the Northeast Corridor for hours.
The fire interrupted Amtrak service in both directions because the fire damaged overhead electrical wires that feed Amtrak’s trains. Service on two of four tracks was restored just before 8:00 p.m.

Strange thing happened today in Amsterdam.

This after noon 2 trains (metro's) collided at a subway station called "Wibautstraat",
coincidental is that 30 min. prior to the accident there was a fire at "Centraal Station"
(that's the main station where all subway lines come together). Because of the fire,
the whole subway was put on hold (meaning that all trains are parked at a station
waiting for clearance to go ride again). But for some reason, the train that was parked
at "Amstel station", drove of any ways and drove strait into the train that was waiting
at "Wibautstraat".

At least 3 dead in Norway train derailment

"At least three people in the Norwegian capital of Oslo died when a train derailed Wednesday,
the city Fire Department said.

Several others were injured in the accident, which occurred as the out-of-control train was
headed downhill in the western part of the city. One part of the train slammed into a storage
building in the city's harbor area and some of its wagons ended up in the water, a department
spokeswoman said.

Nine fire engines, 29 firefighters, ambulances and a helicopter responded to the accident.
Ida Lofsgaard Kojedahl, the spokeswoman, said there was no immediate word on the cause of
the accident."

"Officials say three people were killed and four people were injured when an out-of-control train
derailed and went downhill in Oslo, Norway.

The train operator, CargoNet, said in a statement on its Web site that 16 cars derailed in what
it called a "serious" accident and that train traffic will remain affected throughout the day.

The National Accident Commission is on site and all train traffic to and from Alnabru has been
stopped. Alnabru is the terminal where the train had been before it derailed."

At least six dead in Italy train derailment
April 12, 2010

"ROME (AFP) – A train derailed in northern Italy Monday, killing at least six people and wounding several others, many of them seriously, the ANSA news agency reported citing rescuers.

The regional train derailed at around 0700 GMT because of a landslide near the town of Merano, according to rescuers.

The civil protection agency and several ambulances headed to the scene.

The railway line, inaugurated in 2005, is considered one of the most modern tracks in the country, ANSA said."
